The Kinks - You Really Got Me (1964)

Na década de 60, os artistas eram contratados por grandes gravadores, salvo muitas exceções, por mérito. Hoje em dia, é tudo na base da "amizade", ou da influência que o artista tem ou pode exercer, ou ainda teria que ter um rostinho que chamasse a atenção das menininhas, carisma e por aí vai. Ou seja, nada que realmente tenha a ver com a música propriamente dita. Quando a RCA contratou assinou com estes londrinos, em 1971, a banda já tinha uma certa estrada longa traçada, e era o fim da fase realmente "barulhenta" da banda, fazendo com que os irmãos Davies tirassem da gaveta suas canções menos furiosas. Mas, aos nossos amigos garageiros que freqüentam este blog, trago-lhes a principal compilação dos trabalhos dessa fase inicial do grupo, com vocais rasgados, batidinhas Mod típicas da época, guitarras bem amplificadas que irrompem num som que influenciou praticamente tudo que foi produzido nas cenas alternativas entre 1964 e 1981, que sem dúvida prenunciou o Punk e (dizem alguns) até mesmo o Heavy Metal (embora o som dos Kinks nada tenha que ver com esse gênero). Era uma música incomum, mesmo obscena para a época, o que fez com que a banda fosse jogada aos mais fétidos recônditos da indústria fonográfica. Este é o disco de estréia da banda, acrescido de muitas faixas extras, de material outrora inédito da banda. Nele consta o terceiro single da banda (e o primeiro mais ou menos conhecido), que hoje em dia é um clássico absoluto do Rock: You Really Got Me, que freqüenta desde rádios Mainstream, até os mais obscuros clubinhos undergrounds do mundo todo. Trata-se de um disco fantástico, que faz com que cantarolemos as músicas horas depois de tê-las ouvido. Fantástico!!!!!!

The Hi-Risers - Rockin' Spree (2006)

Àqueles que apreciam o Rock and Roll na sua forma mais pura, trago-lhes esta fantástica banda "ianque". Com uma profusão dançante, instrumentos bem tocados, uma energia que brota não se sabe de onde, eles conseguem animar qualquer festa, ou mera aglomeração. Este fantástico disco (na verdade uma compilação), em suas 14 faixas a banda consegue se afirmar como uma das melhores do Revival americano e mundial... Recomendado a todos que gostam de bandas como The Kaisers, Silver Bullets e outros.. Um dos discos da década!
